DNewstripe AeroVent aerosol can recycling systems are used to reduce the handling & processing cost of hazardous waste in various chemical processing and manufacturing facilities. They are used to quickly puncture & drain various waste aerosol cans on site for safe chemical disposal. These compact & portable, can disposal units feature Viz-a-Ball indicator check valves that keep the operator / user safe by indicating when the can is completely depressurised & can be safely opened. Newstripe AeroVent aerosol can recycling systems feature an inbuilt cycle counter for eliminating the requirement for manually counting and guessing when to replace filters. These aerosol can recycling systems feature Safe2Vent filters that have a high composition of carbon media for thoroughly filtering the volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The high composition of carbon media also ensures that the filter remains usable for extended periods. Aerosol can recycling systems are designed to depressurize aerosol / paint cans and automotive oil filters by safely puncturing and draining the inner contents. Raptor Supplies offers a wide array of Justrite, Herkules, Newstripe and Vestil aerosol can recycling equipment manufactured in compliance with hazardous waste regulations. These can recyclers feature a combination filter comprising a two-piece coalescing filter / carbon cartridge to trap odour and potentially harmful VOCs that are released by punctured aerosol cans. The coalescing cartridge converts residual liquids into droplets that get accumulated in the cartridge reservoir, while the top activated carbon filter cartridge indicates saturation and serves as a replacement reminder. Justrite Aerosolv can recycling equipment has low-maintenance aluminium construction with all the moving parts made from 308 stainless steel to provide excellent heat resistance and ductility. They are compatible with all industry-standard cans with a maximum height of 8-1/2 inches and can also be threaded directly into 30- or 55-gallon drums using a 2-inch (O.D.) bung. Newstripe also offers highly efficient can recyclers for use with aerosol cans of sizes up to 3 inches in diameter and 10.5 inches in length. The patented Viz-A-Ball indicator check valve of this system is designed to keep the operator safe by indicating when the system is completely depressurized and can be opened. You should use up all the contents of the can, including the propellant, when using aerosols. It is best to dispose of any household hazardous waste at your local collection site or an event sponsored by your local HHW program.
If your aerosol cans are empty, then they may go into normal recycling bins for cans / tins. All partially or completely full aerosol cans should be separated from your other recyclables and general waste as they are considered hazardous waste.
About 60% of aerosol cans are made from tinplated steel and about 40% from aluminium. Aluminium and steel are recyclable metals. Aerosol cans also contain small plastic and rubber components, such as the lid, valve & dip tube, which are removed during recycling.
