Frequently Asked Questions
What are caged nuts?
In caged nuts, a spring-steel cage holds standard nuts. The cage can be clipped over a panel edge or snapped into a holder. These nuts are available in strips up to 6 feet long, for applications that require fixed nuts in evenly spaced sequences.
What are weld nuts?
Weld nuts are used for welding to another object. They are typically constructed of stainless steel or low-carbon steel. Single tab weld nuts are ideal for heavy-gauge materials.
What are captive screws?
Captive screws are used in PC boards and equipment panel assemblies. They are ideal for medical devices, signs, network cabinets & electronic enclosures. They can be locked into pre-drilled holes, allowing the screws to be unfastened and refastened without detachment. Captive screws can be used with springs, retainers & washers to create a self-captivating assembly.
