Why do you have to use a sensor for a pneumatic cylinder?
We recommend using a pneumatic cylinder linear position sensor for detecting the linear position of the piston during operation. Pneumatic cylinders are typically made with a magnet already attached internally to the piston so that magnetic proximity sensors can be used. Pneumatic cylinders with position sensors allow enhanced security and feedback to ensure the piston location. These position sensors can detect extension, retraction or independent positions along the cylinder body, depending on where the unit is mounted. Multiple sensors can also be attached to one pneumatic cylinder for multiple position feedback locations.
