Dial thermometers are designed with a metal pointer on a circular scale which is used for indicating the temperature measurements. Raptor Supplies offers an array of dial thermometers from brands like Ashcroft, Dwyer Instruments, General, Johnson Controls, Reed Instruments and Reotemp. These thermometers comprise two main components - one is a needle and the other is a temperature sensor. General dial thermometers are used for precisely measuring soil or compost temperature within a range of 0 - 220 degrees F. These units feature a 3-ft-long stainless-steel probe and a 3-inch diameter dial with a clear glass cover. They further come equipped with a 1/2-inch (12.7mm) NPT fitting for easy attachment to any piece of equipment. Johnson Controls dial thermometers offer continuous temperature indication on an analogue gauge in Fahrenheit and Celsius gradients. These thermometers are available in three configurations - surface-mounted, flush- / panel-mounted and direct mounted. The surface-mounted models come with a mounting flange with three 5/32 inch holes whereas the flush- / panel-mounted units have a bracket that covers a panel of sizes up to 5/8 inch.
