Thomas compressor & vacuum pumps are designed for generating air pressure to operate air driven equipment and tools. These units feature die-cast aluminium components for exceptional strength and a diaphragm compressor for preventing the ingress of contaminants & facilitating positive sealing. They have enclosed housing with motor vents for maximum heat dissipation and permanently lubricated bearings to reduce frictional losses. The balanced pump design and thermal protectors of these pumps ensure low vibration operation and automatic shut-off to prevent overheating, respectively. Diaphragm compressor / vacuum pumps are widely used to manufacture vacuum tubes and electric lamps, as well as process semiconductors. At times, these pumps also remove gases from a specific area or remove water from basements (sump pumps). Gast diaphragm compressor / vacuum pumps are equipped with maintenance-free ball bearings to reduce the frictional losses and a head assembly made of chemical- / heat-resistant PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) which provide resistance against corrosion. They can be mounted on any plane and are offered with alternate stroke options. Thomas diaphragm compressor / vacuum pumps are permanently lubricated and are therefore considered as virtually maintenance-free units. These pumps are ideal for applications which require moderate pressure and continuous-duty operations. They also facilitate reversible use of the 1/8 and 1/4 inch inlet and outlet ports.
