Gas Masks

CBRN gas masks, chin type gas masks and riot control gas masks are NIOSH-approved full-face respirator to protect users in case of gas leaks & chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hazards in defence, oil & gas and mining industries. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of gas masks from brands like 3M, Honeywell, MSA and Survivair. These masks have a silicone / Hycar rubber facepiece with a butyl rubber seal to resist moisture and gas permeation while adding comfort and enhancing durability. The clear lens on the front of the mask follows ANSI Z87+ standard to provide eye protection while having no visual distortion. Selected models come with an exhalation valve cover to protect the valve against chemical agents and a speaking diaphragm to help communicate easily. A cartridge can be mounted on the facepiece to help filter a broad range of particulates, gases and vapours. 4 / 5 / 6 adjustable harnesses secure the mask to the back of the head to give a tight fit. Choose from a wide range of these CBRN masks, available in small, medium and large sizes on Raptor Supplies.

Working Mechanism

  • When the wearer inhales, the air is drawn through the filter or chemical cartridge.
  • The filter / cartridge neutralises the gas and removes harmful substances.
  • Clean & breathable air is then supplied to the wearer through the facepiece of the mask.
  • When the wearer exhales, the air is expelled through a separate exhalation valve.
  • This valve prevents the exhaled air from passing through the filter or chemical cartridge.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are CBRN masks?

CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) masks protect workers from hazardous materials, like chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear particles or agents. The filter or cartridge of these masks removes or neutralises harmful materials from the air.

What is a tactical gas mask?

A tactical gas mask (also called a military gas mask) is designed specifically for military and law enforcement personnel in tactical or combat situations. These masks are more durable and resilient than civilian gas masks and withstand the rigours of combat and other demanding conditions.

What are the benefits of half-mask respirators?

Half-mask respirators (also known as half-face respirators) are useful for workers exposed to harmful dust, fumes, vapours or gases. They are commonly used in the construction, manufacturing and other industries where workers may be exposed to hazardous materials, such as pesticides, paint fumes and chemical spills. They can also be used in medical and laboratory settings where workers deal with biological agents daily.

What is the difference between gas masks and face respirators?

The main difference between the two is that a gas mask covers the entire face and protects against a wide range of hazardous materials, while a respirator covers only the nose & mouth and protects against dust or fumes.
