Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between hex spacers and hex standoffs?
Hex spacers are similar to hex standoffs. But unlike spacers, standoffs always include a threaded shaft or hole. Standoffs also come in diverse gender configurations like male-male, female-female & male-female. Spacers can act as female-female standoffs if they have threading.
Can washers be used as spacers?
Spacers have a design containing a length of tube for inserting a fastener. Therefore, a short spacer may look like a thick washer. Washers are sometimes used in place of small spacers.
What are the thread fits or classes in these hex spacers?
Thread fit grades or classes indicate the degree of looseness or tightness of mating threads. The higher the class number, the tighter the fit of the mated components. Lower thread fit grades / classes are suitable for applications requiring quick assembly & disassembly. Higher thread classes are ideal for close tolerances, safety & strength.
Can we reuse hex spacers once removed?
Yes, hex spacers feature durable threads for installation & removal multiple times.
