Frequently Asked Questions

Can we use a miter saw as a chop saw?

A chop saw is used for creating straight accurate cuts and a miter saw provides angled cuts. The results won't be as good if you try to modify the mitre saw to operate as a chop saw.

What is a mitre cut?

A mitre cut refers to an angled cut on the face of two structures that requires two pieces to be cut at 45 degrees and joined to create a corner, known as a mitre joint. The mitre joint is used in box making, framing structures, door and window seals and mouldings.

What do we mean by roof pitch in Starrett mitre finder?

Roof pitch refers to the slope that the rafter produces. It is measured by using inputs like rise, pitch, run, slope, angle and the rafter lengths.
