Puller / separator sets are used for removing bearings from shafts, separating flywheels and splitting bearings. Proto-Ease wide puller sets are ideal for large parts with heavy press fits and are capable of making 10 different adjustable jaw pullers. These bearing pullers can reach over 12 inches and spread over 11 inches. OTC multi-purpose bearing & pulley puller sets can be used for bearings, alternators, generators, power steering / crankshaft pulleys, timing gears and harmonic balancers. Choose a puller having a centre bolt diameter of at least 1/2 the diameter of the shaft from which the object is being removed.
While selecting a puller / separator, consider factors, such as the size and type of the part to be extracted, amount of force needed, available space for the puller and the power source available, whether it be hydraulic and manual.
