The three most common types of air positive displacement compressors found in small and medium-sized industries are rotary screw, vane and reciprocating air compressors.
Electric compressors do not require fuel, so they are much less expensive to operate than diesel compressors. Electric compressors only require a power source to operate and can be left virtually unattended once plugged in and commissioned.
Air conditioner's compressor compresses cold Freon gas. To lubricate the compressor, a small amount of oil is mixed with the Freon gas. When Freon gas is compressed, its pressure rises, causing it to become extremely hot.
Air compressors operate by forcing air into a container and pressurising it. The air is then forced through a hole in the tank, where pressure builds up. Considering it like an open balloon, as the compressed air is released, it can be used as energy.
