Strapping dispensers, also known as strapping carts, hold steel or plastic strapping coils to keep materials organised. These strapping dispensers are equipped with wheels that allow users to move these units around job sites. Strapping dispensers secure coils through the core and feature a brake that stops the roll from unwinding / turning when not in use. They have an in-built tray or bucket that holds seals and tools. These strapping dispensers are used in outdoor lumber yards & warehouses, and are ideal for applications where large items cannot be used as floor standing strapping machines.

Each dispenser accommodates a coil of ribbon wound or mill wound material. The operator pulls gently on the strap end and the strap easily gets paid off from the dispenser. On most dispensers, a strap guide roller set makes strap pay-off smooth and also works as a strap over run brake system.
Ceiling strapping should be installed perpendicular to the joists above, at every 16 inches. A sheet of drywall is 48 inches or 4 feet wide, therefore 16 inch on-centre spacing permits the drywall to be strapped / fastened 4 times (one on each end and two in the middle) across its width.
Strapping materials are used for securing pallet loads and bundling products together during storage and transport. When used for palletising, they are complemented by the additional safety of stretch wrap.
Steel is the most commonly used strapping material owing to its high tensile strength. Steel strapping can be used for securing even the bulkiest loads, like construction materials, logs or industrial equipment, to flatbed rail cars or trucks for worldwide shipping.
Polyester strapping is smooth and glossy while polypropylene strapping has matte finish and is usually embossed. Polyester retains high tension over a long time period while polypropylene has low tension retention (often loses about half of the applied tension within an hour after being applied.)
