Voltage Detectors

Voltage detectors are devices used for determining the presence of an electric charge; ideal for battery voltage monitoring, microprocessor resetting, level discriminating and brownout protection tasks. Raptor Supplies offers a varied range of these electrical testers from brands like Extech, HDE, Westward, Reed Instruments and Milwaukee. The voltage detectors comprise a probe and light emitting sensors, positioned on the tip of the tool, to measure the flux lines formed between the ground potential and the live component. This further produces a displacement current when the electric field (capacitively coupled circuit) is interrupted by a high impedance sensing element, thereby creating a high voltage and turning on the light or buzzer to alert the user. These IEC-approved (CAT III / IV) detectors are available in 600 and 1000V ratings for providing protection against transient shocks.
